Mark Flekken launched his target kick in the Night Nottingham Sky and watched the ball bounced over forest fever Nikola Milenkovic, on the path of Yoane Wissa, and the striker of Brentford ran through the sad keeper and in the net.
In addition, Flekken registered the ninth assist of a goalkeeper in the Premier League this season to set a record for a single campaign in the competition.
It happened eight times in 1992-93, when goalkeepers such as Peter Schmeichel and Hans Segers set up their teammates, and again in 2007-08. But never nine. Last season there were only two. None in 2011-12.
So why, the sudden rise? Is it the result of a new tactical trend, an inevitability in a new era of ball players or just a bit of luck caused by some chaos of hoof balls? Well, it's a bit of all three.
What is clear is that Premier League clubs in all shapes and sizes are much better in pressure than ever before. The number of times a team has won in the last third part has risen in each of the last 10 seasons.
That pressure, in combination with the modern Pep Guardiola-inspired obsession of playback, has led to a huge peak in teams that make mistakes that lead to opponents having shots and score goals.
So this season there has been a bit of a pushback. Goalkeepers start to go longer to bypass the press. The average length of the passes of a keeper has fallen steadily over the past decade, but this term has shown a little revival.
Keepers who touch more balls over the top means more chance that something will happen. That is why five of the top nine seasons for keeper assists come from the good old route on a days of the nineties.
But there is a bucket in all this. Of the nine assists this season, four of them were from Manchester City keeper Edererson. Only former goalkeeper of England Paul Robinson has set up more about his entire career than Edererson has managed this season.
Ederson has delivered seven since his debut, more than anyone – and his are usually different from the rest.
Flekkes's Against Forest was a hoofed kick-up field. His other this season was a long free kick in the direction of the box that bounced over a jumping attacker and defender Die Nathan Collins finally at the end of.
It was also a similar story in previous term, because Flekken again gave one of the assists when he put a long ball forward that just missed Ivan Toney's film, and the challenging defender, and ran for Neal Maupay. The other was then Wolves keeper Jose Sa threw it to teammate Matheus Cunha, who ran from his own half to score.
The only keeper who creates more opportunities than Eminerson, because his debut Everton's Jordan is Pickford – but that is mainly because he goes more than anyone for a long time. He more often rolls the dice.
Pickford had 'launched' the ball, which Opta describes as a pass longer than 40 meters, 719 times for this weekend, the most in the competition this season. Ederson is less than 150.
The long passing of Pickford is more about placing the ball in an attack area and hope that his attackers will do the rest than an arrow to a specific target.
His assist for Abdoulaye Doucoure's 10 seconds in their victory over Leicester came from him who launched it for a long time. That is the case for most keepers. All Robinson's assists in his career came from long-points up-field.
That is where Ederson, and to the same extent Alisson, differ.
All three of Alisson are when he picked up the ball and saw Mo Salah who struck the space, but the Egyptian king still often had a lot to do.
To be honest with Peter Schmeichel, he set two of his three goals with those famous PinPoint Bullet Long Casters to set up the counterattacks of Manchester United.
Ederson is at a different level. He sees teammates who make a run and finds them from 50 meters away, just like his most recent assist against Crystal Palace last month when he saw James Mcatee make an arrow behind the high backline.
He did the same for Erling Haaland against Brentford and Chelsea and Omar Marmoush versus Newcastle.
So yes, the game changes, but above all there is a freak of nature that helps to increase the numbers.
