A frustrated Martin Odegaard admitted that Arsenal was 'too sloppy' and unacceptable in their defeat against Bournemouth on Saturday.
Dean Huijsen and Evanilson both beat the second half of set pieces to cancel the goal of Declan Rice and the Gunners for their Champions League semi-final harm second stage against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday, where they are confronted with a 1-0 deficit of the first leg.
The North London club has now removed 21 points from a winning position in the competition this season and the risk of losing their second place with a number of teams they are chasing, including Manchester City and Newcastle.
Odegaard said: 'Solid disappointment. I think we started the game pretty well. We got the goal and had the feeling that we checked almost everything, but they score and we lose control of the game.
'We never find the rhythm afterwards, it is too chaotic and too sloppy of us. The second half is not acceptable.
'We have to continue if we have a huge game. We have to get ready for that and also analyze this game.
'This is what we want – we want to participate in every competition. We wanted to come here and do a good game and win, but that was not the case. '
Mikel Arteta said that the Gunners still have work to do a top five place for Champions League qualification next season.
“Well, we have a lot to do, yes, because we are not mathematically qualified, we have not yet had the right to finish second, so we still have a lot to do,” he said.
At the crunch collision against PSG, he added: 'It created a lot of anger, frustration, anger, disappointment. Let's use all of that on Wednesday. That's what we have to do. '
