Fans call out star who dressed ‘as janitor’ at Blues’ end-of-season awards party

Chelsea fans have driven Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall for his modest performances at the end of the club's season on Sunday evening.

Most blues stars were dressed at the nines when players from the men's and DameS teams, as well as the Academy, arrived in the chic Grosvenor House in Mayfair, Central London.

There was a joyful atmosphere, which only a few hours after Chelsea scored a 3-1 victory over Premier League champions Liverpool scored to strengthen their hunt for a Champions League place. In the meantime, Sonia Bompastor's side has already won the League and League Cup of the ladies and reached the semi -final of the Champions League.

While others were sufficiently dressed for red carpets around the world, Dewsbury-Hall opted for a more relaxed fit. The 26-year-old, who played a bit round role in the competition after following Enzo Maresca from Leicester in the summer, appeared in a navy surplus and chinos.

The combination of a few blues supporters on social media was ridiculed, with an investigation why he decided to dress as a 'caretaker'.

“What the Helly,” said another fan on X, while a third simply placed two question marks in response to an image of the English midfielder.

It has been a largely frustrating season in its own country for Dewsbury-Hall, who only made this period two starts for the blues in the Premier League.

He enjoyed most of his playing time in the Conference League for the semi-finalist. He has appeared less in the competition than in the top flight.

In the night, Moises Caicedo was a big winners, picking up two prizes when he was named player of the season for men's players and was voted by fans as a men's player of the season.

He joined favorites such as Eden Hazard, Thiago Silva and Cole Palmer to be recognized with both awards in the same season after starting each competition match so far.

Erin Cuthbert won the women's player of the season for the second time in a season in which she surpassed the 250 performances for the blues.

In the meantime, Nathalie Bjorn took home the player of the women's players of the season after he was a defensive rock in her first full season in the club.

Fans will want to keep an eye on Tyrique George and Lola Brown, who won the respective Academy player of the season prizes after they were broken into the first team.

George, 19 made 22 performances and served his first senior goal last month, while Brown, 17, also made a handful of trips for the women's side.

Eventually Millie Bright and Marcus Bettinelli were named PFA Community Champions for their work at the Chelsea Foundation.
