Trent Alexander-Arnold has received a flood of abuse from Liverpool fans on social media after he has announced that he will leave the club when his contract ends in the summer
Trent Alexander-Arnold has left a few Liverpool fans furiously by confirming that he will leave the club this summer. Alexander-Arnold has long been associated with a free transfer to Real Madrid and confirmation of the news that Reds fans had been on Monday morning.
The right back has decided to follow a different approach to Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk, who have signed new two -year deals. It means that he only has three games as a Liverpool player before he leaves his boy's club after his second Premier League title with them.
He wrote on social media: “After 20 years at Liverpool Football Club, it is now time for me to confirm that I will leave at the end of the season. This is easy to make the most difficult decision I have ever made in my life.
“I know that many of you have wondered why or frustrated that I have not yet talked about this, but it was always my intention to keep my full focus on the best interests of the team that was no. 20. This club has been my whole life – my whole world – 20 years.
“From the academy to date, the support and love that I have felt of everyone inside and outside the club will stay with me forever. I will have debts for all of you. But I have never known anything else and this decision is about experiencing a new challenge, getting myself out of my comfort zone and push myself both professionally and personally.
“I gave everything every day I have been to this club, and I hope you feel that I gave you back here during my time. I thank everyone – my coaches, my teammates, the staff and our incredible supporters – during the past 20 years.
“I am blessed enough to live out my dreams here and I will never consider the special moments for granted that I have been lucky to have experienced with you. My love for this club will never die.”

His message did not go well with fans of Liverpool, many of whom feel that he has betrayed his boy's club by leaving a free transfer. “Jog on your rat,” answered a fan, while the words “Judas” and “Snake” were also common in the answers.
“Close the door on the way out,” wrote another fan. One added: “The most difficult decision, my A ***, flirts with it for the past 2 years. Not welcome.” Another concluded: “Really disappointing that you did this, but we knew that this happened before you said a word, the very best. You will need it.”
Although emotions were clearly high, many answers were much more positive. “Thank you Trent #ynwa,” a fan replied. Another wrote: “Ynwa Trent! Good luck with everything. I hope to see your comeback and be our captain.” A third added: “Wish him the best now let's crack on #ynwa.”
