Liverpool Rechtsback Trent Alexander-Arnold has spoken with the GQ magazine and has so far unveiled a number of surprising anecdotes from his life in football.
“When I was little, I was Celtic, but now with the (Steven) Gerrard connection (at Rangers), I am neutral,” he said. “I would say that my other favorite team is Barcelona. I feel that they have the same values and beliefs as Liverpool.”
Alexander-Arnold also took Barça's side when he was asked if he preferred Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo. “For me, Messi,” he said.
The international of England said he could imagine that he spent his entire career at Anfield, but was also asked if he could see himself playing in La Liga or the Bundesliga.
“It's not something I really thought about,” he replied. “I have always loved Liverpool. I have always supported them. I have always played for them. So I have never had that reason to think about it.
“Yes, still now, I would not be in my room and daydream about playing somewhere else. At the moment I am a Liverpool player. I love the club more than everything. I love everything there. I love the fans, the people. I love the city. So no, why would I think about it?”
