Villa objected to Spurs' request
Tottenham announced on April 27 that they had been in a discussion with the Premier League about a change of date.
But Sky Sports News reported later that evening that Aston Villa had written to the Premier League to object to Spurs' request.
It was understood that Villa thought it was an important period in their season and that the double standards would represent.
However, the side of Ange Postecoglou has now granted their request, so that Man Utd would have no extra rest of two days in the case of a full-English Europa League final.
Manchester United and Spurs are on track to meet each other in Bilbao on 21 May, with both parties aggregated benefits that are on their way to their semi-final second legs.
Tottenham will take a lead of two goals to Norway on Thursday after a 3-1 home victory on Bodo/Glimt, while Man Utd has a lead of three goals about Athletic Club on Thursday for their second stage in Old Trafford.
Despite the humble Premier League positions of Man Utd and Spurs from 15th and 16th respectively, the winner of the Europa League will be eligible for the Champions League of next season.
In the meantime, Chelsea and Aston Villa are fighting the top competition of European football by the Premier League.
The side of Enzo Maresca occupies the fifth and final qualifying place for Champions League, while the seventh placed Aston Villa is only three points behind the blues with three more games.
