Manchester United can finally sign Milinkovic -Savic – but not those fans would expect.
The Red Devils have tried Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, who has currently planted his trade in Saudi Arabia, because Jose Mourinho was in the Dugout in Old Trafford.
The Serbian midfielder, who grew his reputation in Lazio, left the Serie A-Outfit in 2023 to become a member of Al-Hilal.
The 30-year-old played this period 26 times in the Saudi Pro League and scored 10 goals to leave Al-Hilal second in the table, six points of the Al-Actihad league leaders.
And although that form suggests that he could still do a job to struggle United, it is his brother who is said to keep an eye on the Red Devils.
Vanja, 28, plays as a keeper for Torino, and he has 34 times in the Italian flight.
He has even been confronted with his brother several times in his career.
Now, after all those years of chasing Sergej, it seems that United was turned to his brother, to get at least one Milinkovic-Savic in their ranks.
Vanja's contract in Torino has to run for another year and expires in 2026, and according to Matteo Moretto and Fabrizio Romano, United “Exploratory Contacts” held the Spanish Serbian.
Interesting is that the potential step ofja could see at United again, after the Serbian initially agreed to sign for the Red Devils in 2014.
United announced the conquest of the 'keeper for € 1.75 million from the Serbian side FK Vojvodina.
Milinkovic-Savic, who stands on a towering 6'8 “, was technically in the books of United for 18 months before he leaves and did not play any game for the club.
The reason for that? He could not get a work permit with which he could play.
As a result, he continued to live in the Serbian capital Belgrade during his time who was contracted to the English club, and he trained with other clubs locally to retain his competition fitness.
He joined the Polish club Lechia in November 2015 to end his nightmare at Old Trafford.
He moved to his current side Torino in January 2017 and has been there since then.
It is fair to say that there were mixed emotions of United fans on social media when they heard from the interest of their club in Milinkovic-Savic.
They joked: “After all, we can sign a Milinković-Savić,” while another admitted that he “had never heard of him”.
Another tweet: “Bringgggggg! Even my grandmother is better than Onana and Bayindir”.
