Declan Rice makes Arsenal vs PSG prediction as star slaps down Gunners criticism

Arsenal travel to Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday for the second stage of their semi-final of the Champions League, with Declan Rice an important role for the Gunners

Declan Rice believes that Arsenal can start a glorious era of success by winning the Champions League. The midfielder of England is convinced as soon as Arsenal wins one trophy, then others will follow quickly and it is clear that rice is completely convinced that they can overcome Paris Saint Germain.

Rice spoke with a sincere faith and confidence in his voice that after seeing Real Madrid last time, it can repeat it, but it will also be the start for his teammates. Gunners boss Mikel Arteta has done wonders at the Emirates, but only has one FA cup to show for all his efforts in the past five and a half years.

Arsenal has never won the largest European trophy of all and Rice says that lifting the Champions League would surpass everything else – and start a stream of trophies for the club.

Rice said: “It is clear that I want to help this club in the future in the future. We were so close to winning the Premier League in recent years, we were in the semi -final, now the Champions League.

“The next step for us is to win trophies. I feel that we are close by, but to get over the line, you have to win that first. I feel that they will certainly come in. We have such a good group, but we must continue to believe and be positive.

“We can go outside and we can achieve something great for this club and that is what we want to do. We clearly know that we are 1-0, but we have a lot of faith, full positivity that we go outside and win tomorrow night.

“I think tomorrow night will really be a good game. And as I said, we are really positive and have a lot of conviction. We can come here and do something special.”

Rice clearly played in the big semi -final in his career, both with England and West Ham on the way to those who won the Europa Conference League. This is a big step in club terms, but for Rice he will see it as just a different game, but with a huge desire to take the next step towards the biggest game of his life.

“Tomorrow night is just another game. It is the semi -final of the Champions League, but I don't put too much pressure on myself. We are versus them. We clearly know what to do to reach the final,” said Rice.

“I played in the semi -final before and I had to come to the final. Hopefully we can continue as a group tomorrow night and we can achieve something very good and make a very special evening for this club.”

Rice laughed stories about TV clips that would pick him up, said “if we don't have the ball, we die” for the first leg with PSG. The French champions were excellent in the emirates, but despite their excellence, rice insists that Arsenal did not feel intimidated.

Rice added: “I didn't say that. I don't think I said that. I think it was something like … I don't know how that came about.

“I think the first 15 minutes, I think the early goal probably shocked us a bit. And it probably took us 15, 20 minutes to get a foothold in the game. But when we started the ball a bit, we started creating some chances and of course their keeper, Donnarumma, made a number of amazing rescues.

“But I think you should have a lot of faith. We certainly have that as a group. The manager certainly drills that every day. I think if we are the best versions of ourselves tomorrow night, we know that we can be.”
