Tottenham -Baas Ange Postecoglou has fired back on Arsene Wenger after the former Arsenal manager claimed that the winners of the Europa League should not be guaranteed a place in the Champions League.
Spurs has one foot in the European League final prior to their semi-final second stage against Bodo/Glimt, who won a 3-1 victory last week.
The European Run of the North London Club is amid a scorching domestic campaign in which they currently take place 16th in the Premier League table.
In 2014, UEFA adjusted its competition rules to grant the Europa League winner automatic qualification for the Champions League of the following season.
Wenger, who is now FIFA's head of global football development,, however, claimed that UEFA should 'think and revise' the rules, where Manchester United also within a chance to take advantage.
Postecoglou believes that people are trying to 'reduce' his club on every occasion.
“Well, I mean, that's a debate that has been raging for years, like at least the last eight days,” he said.
'I have never heard that, so … I said it before, Maat, Spurs does crazy things with people. It does it, it does it.
'You place that club in a sentence or another issue, and they all come out and try to reduce them as much as possible.
'Why was there not a problem before and it is a problem now? What is the difference? I don't understand what the difference is.
'Last year Fifth did not get you in the Champions League, this year it did. What does that mean?
'There are competition rules and the rules say that the winner will go in [the Champions League]. It is not the first year, and there is no asterisk against that you also have to do something else. But it's spurs size, they love it. They love it. Oh, they love it, you love it, right? '
When Wenger once reminded that wish managed the rivals of Spurs in Noord -Londen, Postecoglou replied: 'I don't want to go that way because I have a great respect for Arsene.
'He is one of the legends of the game, but it does crazy things for people, size, I love it. I think it's great, bring it up. It will make people upset, so that makes me happy. '
Wenger said to Bein Sports and claimed that the winners of the Europa League should be rewarded with a return to the competitions.
The former Arsenal -Baas said: 'No – they have to automatically qualify for the Europa League, but not necessarily for the Champions League.
'Especially if you are in the Premier League, where five teams are already eligible.
'I think it's something [for UEFA] To think about and assess. On the other hand, people will tell you that you should give that price to keep the Europa League, interesting and motivated [of qualifying for the Champions League]. '
In the meantime, Tottenham without midfielder James Maddison will be for the trip to Bodo/Glimt after he had been in a season with knee injury.
Captain Son Heung-Min has missed the last four games with a foot injury. Son has only trained and is doubt for the trip to Norway.
Dominic Solanke, also forced against Bodo/Glimt, missed the draw at West Ham, but is convinced that he is fit for Thursday.
