Manchester United and Tottenham can both secure a place in the Europa League final on Thursday evening, with the potential of an all-prime minister League-Showdown in Bilbao
Manchester United and Tottenham are both just 90 minutes away from securing their place in the Europa League final. The Premier League giants have passed both miserable domestic seasons and are located in the lower half of the table.
That has piled the pressure on bosses Ruben Amorim and Ange Postecoglou, but the two could both save their season with a European triumph. United wants to win their first trophy under Amorim, while Spurs wants to end their 17-year-old silverwaters.
And together with lifting the trophy, winning the Europa League would also secure both parties a passage to the Champions League of next season. To the great annoyance of Arsene Wenger.
And the Premier League pair is well placed to reach the final later this month. United has a lead of three goals about Athletic Bilbao after a brilliant first stage in Spain, while Spurs goes to the polar circle to have Bodo/Glimt after winning 3-1 in North London.
Neither parties are dragged along, but if everything goes to plan on Thursday evening, it will be a full-English final. Here is everything you need to know about the potential collision.
When and where is the game being played?
It is a relatively rapid change from the end of the semi-final tires, where the final will be played on Wednesday 21 May in the San Mames Stadium of Athletic Bilbao. It starts at 8 p.m. UK Time.
Ticket allocation
As is often the case with UEFA competitions, the number of tickets offered, compared to the amount that goes to supporters, is a dispute bone. The Bilbao stadium, built in 2013, has more than 53,000 fans.
But that has not translated into major assignments for teams that reach the final. In fact, just over 29,000 tickets go to fans of the finalists, with the remaining 24,000 Ellocation elsewhere.
It is not surprising that all the sets of supporters who are still in the competition have made angry, who are confronted with a crazy fight to secure their place.
Both Spurs and United have already opened requests to buy tickets, due to the very small window between now and the last start.
Ticket prices
Instead of the clubs themselves, UEFA will handle the purchase and distribution of the ticket. Prices vary from € 40 (£ 34) for category 4 tickets, all the way to tickets of category 1 that cost € 240 (£ 204). There is an option for limited display tickets at the level of the upper category, which you return € 190 (£ 161).
