Conor McGregor brought a short tribute to one of his greatest rivals, Jose Aldo, after he withdrew with MMA for the second time last night.
The Irishman had a legendary feud with Aldo on the way to winning his first undisputed title in the UFC. They fought in 2015, where McGregor eliminated his Brazilian rival malignant to become the first man who defeated him in the Octagon on UFC 194.
Since then their relationship has been up and down, although McGregor generally has the impressive CV of his rival respectful. And after he had hung his gloves on UFC 315 on UFC 315 on Saturday evening, he only had four words to say in an Instagram story.

On Saturday evening at the Bell Center in Montreal, Jose Aldo was defeated by Aiemann Zahabi after a tumultuous week with a great weightmiss. The former Feather Waarde champion seemed to push a finish in the third, but gassed and eventually dropped a unanimous decision.
After the fight, and the health problems that led to it being a featherweight match, Aldo announced that he would hang his gloves. It was his second time he gave up the sport after a loss of 2022 for Merab Dvalishvili saw him retire.
It was then placed in the UFC Hall of Fame and was honored in 2023 with an induction.
And even considering his defeat on Saturday evening, Conor McGregor is still impressed by Aldo's current skills. He shared a video that burns him the 'featherweight goat', with his own caption, simply read 'Jose Aldo last night' next to an emoji of two eyes.

Because their incredibly heated feud came to an end in that legendary knockout of 13 seconds, Conor McGregor has always been respectful for Jose Aldo. Although they have sometimes been testy, the Irishman has generally recognized his Brazilian counterpart as the largest featherweight in history.

After his last retirement and his subsequent induction in the Hall of Fame, McGregor tweeted that his place was 'deserved'. The couple even talked about possible training together when the Brazilian ever comes to Ireland.
