Luis Diaz confirms transfer stance ahead of Liverpool contract talks

Luis Diaz has been a large part of the Triumph's Premier League title of Liverpool this season after scoring 13 goals in the top flight and the Colombian has now insisted that he wants to stay in Anfield for the near future

Liverpool -star Luis Diaz has insisted that he wants to stay “for as long as possible” in Anfield if he prepares for the last two years of his contract. The Colombian has been a success at Liverpool since he came to FC Porto for about £ 37.5 million in 2022, and to pay attention to 41 times in 146 performances.

His goals helped Liverpool forge a dangerous attacking front line next to Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota and Cody Gakpo.

Diaz continued its impressive form this season by scoring 17 times in all competitions, a huge factor in the Triumph's Premier League title of the team, although there are some worries about his contract situation.

Liverpool has already lost Trent Alexander-Arnold for a free transfer, in which Real Madrid probably left until the last minute, while they left it until the last minute to secure Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk to new contracts.

Diaz, however, took the fear of the possibility that he was walking away for nothing as he explained his happiness in the club and his desire to go for many years.

“I am really happy and I have been that way since the first day I arrived,” he told the Colombian TV station Telemundo Deport about his future in Anfield.

“I have always been very calm and I really just enjoyed the football that is played by this great team, are part of this.” We will talk, the conversation about it (his future) will happen. For me I would stay as long as possible.

“It also depends on the club, it all depends on the details. They are all details that have been solved separately. But I am very calm, very happy and I enjoy the Premier League.”

Diaz will hope to avoid a similar situation as that of Alexander-Arnold, who was boosted by supporters while preparing to come as a replacement in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal on Sunday.

The attacker refused to wade the subject or to condemn fans for making – but defended the right back for what he has given to Liverpool over the years.

“I have no control over that,” he said. “I can talk about Trent because he is a person who worked very well, given everything to the club. I think he has contributed what he wanted, he won everything.

“So I think he is leaving the front door. He is a great player, a great person and he has a huge quality. I am very proud to play next to him.”
