Ruben Amorim introduces rarely-seen Man Utd pre-match training tactic ahead of 4-0 thrashing of Everton
RUBEN AMORIM stunned Manchester United fans before taking charge of his first home Premier League game.
Amorim, 39, led United to a dominant 4-0 win over Everton at Old Trafford thanks to a brace from Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee.
The Red Devils already looked renewed under the Portuguese tactician, but there were moments during the match that showed the players are still used to his favored 3-4-3 formation.
And Man Utd fans quickly discovered just how different things are under the ex-Sporting Lisbon boss – from the moment they took their seats at the Theater of Dreams.
United stars took to the pitch for pre-match warm-ups, as did their opponents.
But then the home fans watched their favorite Premier League team CORNERS practice.
More specifically, they seemed to be working to keep people off the net.
That's a very rare sight during the warm-up before a competitive match starts.
The Manchester giants had little to worry about in the end as they defeated a toothless Everton side with ease – with just two corners awarded over the course of 90 minutes.
Nevertheless, Amorim refused to get carried away full-time, insisting there is still much work to be done, hinting that more unusual tactics were in store.
He said: “The result was good, but we were pragmatic. We were pragmatic and did our job. We can still adapt and still have a long way to go.
“We scored the goals at the right times and that changed the game. We don't just focus on the result.
“We still have so much to do, but it is better to work with victories.
“Let's focus more on performance. We have good moments, but some we also suffered.”
