Dan Hardy uncertain about Islam Makhachev at Welterweight
Dan Hardy went famous five rounds with Georges St-Pierre on UFC 111 in March 2010.
'The Outlaw' never realized his world champion dream, but he still succeeded in setting up as one of the best analysts of MMA, so people will listen when he is a fight like Della Maddalena vs. Makhachev predicts.
“I think Della Maddalena has a bright future,” Hardy told Submission Radio.
“I don't know if he's going to hold the belt or if he will lose it to one of the best contenders and then record it again. However, I don't think he will lose it to Makhachev.
“I think Makhachev keeps the lightweight belt against someone in the world on every day, including Ilia Topuria. I don't think if he moved, he would be very successful against Makhachev.
“Della Maddalena looked very, very sharp against Belal, and I wonder what Makhachev would look like like a good weight.
“Whether he would look just as strong and lean, or whether he looks heavier and would potentially go out because he would step directly into a five -round fight.”
Islam Makhachev's message to Jack della Maddalena
Jack della Maddalena promised Alexander Volkanovski after his UFC 315 title win.
The UFC champion featherweight lost twice against Islam Makhachev, who took their rivalry with a mean head-kick Ko on UFC 294 in October 2023.
“You are not a people, I will show you different levels. Keep my belt clean,” tweeted Makhachev in response to the comments of Della Maddalena about Volkanovsky.
He added: “Time to become a double champion #inshaallah. Let's go.”
