Jake Paul claims Tommy Fury turned down eye-watering multi-million dollar offer for rematch before taking Darren Till fight

Jake Paul has hit out at his old rival Tommy Fury for turning down a monstrous payday in favor of a clash with a former UFC star.

The duo faced off in Saudi Arabia last year, with the Briton coming out on top after an intense cruiserweight clash. Instead of seeking an immediate rematch, Paul took on Nate Diaz, while Fury took on KSI at Misfits Boxing.

Earlier this year, they reportedly revisited the possibility of another fight, with Netflix being the likely broadcaster worldwide. But it fell through and Paul went on to fight Mike Tyson in a record-breaking heavyweight showdown.

Jake Paul attacks Tommy Fury for choosing Darren Till for a fight instead of a rematch

In a tweet that lasted no more than a few minutes, Jake Paul took aim at his old rival Tommy Fury for turning down the chance to fight for a second time. He claimed to offer as much as $8 million for what would be a huge rematch, which probably would have been his best career purse.

Instead, Fury will fight Darren Till under the Misfits Boxing banner, with a possible rematch against KSI later. This irritated Paul, who wrote: “Book Fury $8 million to fight on Netflix.

“He turned it down and is now fighting an MMA fighter… Now tell me who's running? Stupid, father-controlled boy, protected from the inevitable.”

Tommy Fury teased a potential Jake Paul fight in the PFL

Earlier this year, Tommy Fury reunited with his old training partner Tom Aspinall for a session at the MMA gym. And seemingly out of nowhere, he suggested he could fight Paul in the PFL cage for their rematch, instead of in the boxing ring.

Paul has been signed for an eventual fight at the Smart Cage and has an equity stake in the promotion, taking on an ambassadorial role. Fury noticed a pair of PFL gloves during a YouTube video with Aspinall and said he would like a fight in the cage.

“Jake Paul is in the PFL, right?” He asked, to which Aspinall replied: “Oh, I think that's great then.” Fury added: “I'm going to smash his face in when I get good at MMA. I will beat him in boxing and in the cage. Big useless pr***.”

“I count on one and a half to two years of training until I can beat him in a fight in the cage without any problems. He has the money, he has the best sparring partners in the world. So he's doing well. But no match for me.”
