Jiri Prochazka could have taken the place of Alex Pereira against Magomed Ankalaev.
The former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion is one of the few hunters who never lose their title in the Octagon, after he had left the championship when he was sidelined with an injury in November 2022.
Jiri Prochazka has been trying to get his title back since then, but was not successful in two attempts against his greatest rival Alex Pereira.
Although he was 0-2 against Pereira, things started to look up at Procazka after he had eliminated Jamahal Hill on UFC 311. Months later at UFC 313, a new champion was crowned in Magomed Ankalaev and suddenly Title contract was not outside the question for Prochazka.

Pereira, one of the biggest draws of the UFC today, was considered the leader for Ankalaev on 28 June on UFC 317 reportedly offered as a date.
The Rematch does not seem to happen quickly, because 'Patan' recently made the headlines in a now deleted post about 'X' about his complicated negotiations with the UFC, later claim that it was a hacker.
On the Ariel Helwani show, Tim Simpson from Prochazka was asked if the UFC Prochazka approached about fighting Ankalaev in the place of Pereira.

Pereira seems to return to the negotiating table later this year and opts for a short-notice title fight on UFC 317.
According to his manager, Prochazka places his training first with university exams at Masaryk University in the Czech Republic.
“He takes his exams. That is legitimate,” Simpson said about the reason for Procazka not to fight on UFC 317.
“He has postponed them so often. Like, man, “I can't postpone this exam …”
