Barcelona’s Torres undergoes appendicitis surgery

Ferran Torres will miss the urge from Barcelona to the title after the club confirmed on Wednesday that he had undergone surgery for Appendicitis.

The club did not give a timeline for his return, but local media reported that Torres could miss the last three games of the campaign.

The first of those three games takes place on Thursday against Espanyol, and if Barcelona wins, they will achieve the title after the victory of Real Madrid over Mallorca on Wednesday.

“The first team player Ferran Torres has undergone a successful operation for Appendicitis on 14 May,” Barcelona said in their statement.

Torres enjoyed a successful 2024-25 season, scored 19 goals and assisted seven in all competitions, his best return for the club since he was joined in January 2022.

He scored 10 times and gave six assists in Laliga, with three of those in Barcelona's crucial 4-3 Clasico victory on Real Madrid on Sunday.
