Roy Keane did not stop his destructive assessment of Rasmus Hojlund after the loss of Friday in Chelsea.
The former Manchester United star, 53, has never been anyone who cut his words with regard to the club in which he won seven Premier League titles -and this reaction was no different.
The 1-0 loss of Man Utd for Champions League-Chelsea was their 18th of the competition campaign and saw several weak versions, including that of Hojlund.
Keane said on Sky Sports: “Hojlund tonight, he looked like the young child from Chelsea (Tyrique George).
“He looked like he had just left the academy. His runs were not good, his timing, his hold-up game.
“Again, if you are a striker who plays for Man Utd … even for the whole team, one shot on goal?”
Hojlund has scored only four goals this season in 31 league games with many fans who give him Grace because of his age, 22.
The striker is not a stranger to a goal drought that had difficulty finding his feet when signing in 2023, but patience is thin.
Keane said: “We continue to apologize for him. We are talking about trust, but you still think, when you are a striker, you sometimes have to let something happen.
“What the big clubs have – and what United has always had – are strikers who can produce something for themselves, even if they don't get great service.
“They produce something because they have quality, a little determination, a little experience, football information. We don't see that with Hojlund.”
Hojlund recently looked in the Premier League – but therefore has a lot of the team.
Even a Europa League final cannot really cover up the disappointing 16th competition, with the last victory of the team in March to now related Leicester.
The Red Devils hope to continue their undefeated form in Europe on 21 May on 21 May in search of silverware.
