‘Big chest, little balls’…Ian Machado Garry slams former UFC champ for turning down UFC 310 offer
Ian Machado Garry is furious with the UFC welterweight elite for allegedly turning down fight offers.
Ian Machado Garry will step up on a week's notice and face undefeated Shavkat Rakhmonov in a pivotal bout at UFC 310. The former Kill Cliff teammates will compete in a No. 1 ranked welterweight bout after defending champion Belal Muhammad pulled out due to injury .
Garry was originally scheduled to headline UFC Tampa against Joaquin Buckley before the Rakhmonov match became available. Since defeating Michael “Venom” Page at UFC 303, Garry has patiently waited for an opponent to sign on the dotted line, including a failed attempt to lure Colby Covington into a fight with him.
One of Garry's previously targeted opponents, according to the man himself, was Kamaru Usman. The former UFC welterweight champion hasn't fought at 170 pounds since falling to Leon Edwards in back-to-back title fights.
While Usman isn't fazed by some of the recent criticism, Garry believes the heat directed at him recently is justified.

Ian Machado Garry accuses 'weak' Kamaru Usman of focusing on easier matchups
During a recent appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, Garry gushed at Usman.
“Usman has a big chest and small balls,” said Garry. 'He looks good and plays the role, but when it comes to between the legs he's a small man. That's my take on it…he and Colby are older, they've been through the division and they've fought these guys. Now they're coming to the end of their careers and looking to pick the better stylistic matchups. But I guarantee this: Usman is going to try to push for a fight with Jack Della Maddalena because he saw how easily Gilbert Burns could knock him out.
“If I were in Usman's shoes, why would I want to fight a man who is tall, leggy and difficult to deal with, when I can fight a man who I have seen two people back to back free him could easily switch off? I guarantee Usman will try to push for the JDM fight because he is weak in mind.
At the time of writing, Usman has not responded to Garry's comments.

Kamaru Usman told critics to shut up after rejecting the short-term offer for UFC 310
Usman hasn't fought since a middleweight loss to Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 294 last year. He is targeting a return to the Octagon in 2025, although it is uncertain whether he will return to welterweight or middleweight for his next fight.
Garry is undefeated in his UFC tenure with recent wins over Daniel Rodriguez, Geoff Neal and Neil Magny. A win over Rakhmonov will likely earn him a welterweight title shot against Mohammed.
Usman and Garry could potentially be on a collision course if the former titleholder returns to the welterweight division. For now, tensions are rising between two of the division's biggest stars.
