Khabib Nurmagomedov pays touching tribute to late father: ‘He was everything for us’

Khabib Nurmagomedov has spontaneously paid tribute to the man who has formed his MMA career.

The former UFC Lightweight Champion credit his legendary career to his father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, who unfortunately died in July 2020 because of COVID-19 complications.

At the age of 57, the father of Khabib Nurmagomedov left a lasting legacy behind those hunters from his gym who still gives him credit, with the last PFL champion, Gadzhi Rabadanov, who gave a tribute after his $ 1 million world win in December.

On Sunday, Khabib Nurmagomedov shared an old photo of him and his father on Instagram.

'The Eagle' used the caption to pay for almost five years after his early death.

“My father, my friend and my coach,” wrote Nurmagomedov.

“He was everything for us Alhamdulillah.

“Photo was taken 10 years ago.”

Thousands of fans responded to the photo by flooding the commentary part of Nurmagomedov with supportive words.

Khabib Nurmagomedov's emotional UFC pension

Khabib Nurmagomedov withdrew after choking Justin Gaethje at UFC 254 in October 2020, which took place only three months after his father died.

“When UFC called me about Justin, I spoke to my mother for three days,” he said during an emotional pension state after the fight.

“She didn't want me to fight without a father and I said this is my last fight – and I gave her my word.

“Thank you very much Justin. I know you are great, I know how to take care of your people. Be close to your parents, because you never know what will happen tomorrow.”

In 2025, Nurmagomedov will still be happy with retirement, despite the fact that a fan calls him to make an MMA referee.

The 36-year-old has emulated his father by becoming one of the largest combat sport coaches.

The short career of Nurmagomedov as a trainer has seen his hunters catch in the UFC, Bellator and PFL.

Abdulmanap would undoubtedly be proud of the work that his son has done since he left fighting.
