Atletico Madrid join PSG in race to sign Lens’ Abdukodir Khusanov
Atletico Madrid have become the latest European giants to show interest in RC Lens centre-back Abdukodir Khusanov (20), according to a report from Mohamed Toubache-Ter.
The Uzbek international has gone from strength to strength at Lens following his €100,000 move from Belarus in 2023. He was touted to replace Kevin Danso in the backline this season before the Austrian's move to AS Roma fell through due to a failed medical. However, despite remaining at the Stade Bollaert, Khusanov continues to feature prominently, making 13 appearances in all competitions so far this season.
Last week, Foot Mercato reported that Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Luís Campos met with Khusanov's entourage ahead of a possible January dive. Although Lens are very reluctant to sell the centre-back, their financial situation could take the decision out of their hands as Foot Mercato report that PSG could test their resolve with a €20m jump.
However, they are not the only interested party as Atletico Madrid are also big admirers of the young, emerging centre-back.
