When Alistair Overeem suffered a KO loss of the first round to steal Miocic on UFC 203, the heavyweight kickboxer led on a large controversy.
Alistair Overeem is still classified as one of the greatest signing sessions of the UFC ever after he was a member of the promotion of StrikeForce and Brock Lesnar in his debut fight in 2011.
Although it is considered one of the greatest heavyweights of all time, Overeem never managed to win the UFC -heavyweight title, and he went down as one of the best fighters to never win a title in the promotion.
During his 10-year-old UFC official period, 'The Demolition Man' only fought once for the heavyweight title, and that was against Stipe Miocic on UFC 203.

Overeem scored almost title victory over Miocic during the UFC 203 Main Event
After the back of four extremely impressive victories, Overeem received a title shot against Miocic on UFC 203 in Stipe's Home State, Cleveland, Ohio.
This was the first defense of Miocic of his heavyweight title after the depreciation of Fabricio Werdum only a few months earlier.
Early in the fight, the Dutch kickboxer showed his incredible kicking Arsenal and walked some heavy stairs on the body of the champion.
And then, just over a minute in the fight, Overeem dropped Miocic with a huge left hand, then haunting him on the floor in an attempt to finish the fight.
Instead of raining a heli-apple ground and pound to finish the fight, Overeem, however, locked himself in the neck of Miocic and tried to submit him with a guillotine.
On points it seemed as if the choke was deep and Miocic made some movements with his hand, but the champion quickly escaped from the choke.
With just under a minute of the first round, Stipe caught part of Overem and got the fight on the ground. From there, he unleashed terrifying ground and pounds and skipped the cold.
Overem accused ref of missing a crane, but Joe Rogan called his bluff
Immediately after the fight, the challenger complained to referee Marc Goddard who tapped Miocic while he was early in the round in the guillotine.
And then, when Joe Rogan started interviewing him in the Octagon after the fight, Overeem claimed that the referee missed a crane.
“There is one thing that I can say about the fight, I believe that when I hit him and he went down, I followed him and got him in a guillotine and I clearly felt a tap, the referee did not see it, the referee did not jump in, in my opinion he tapped,” said Ohio while the Ohio started to ow.
“We will have the truck picked up, let's look at it,” said Rogan when the repetitions began to show.
“You dropped him, you had wounded it, you grabbed the guillotine, you have held strong … Tell us when you see the tap? You felt it was in the beginning? Have you seen it there? Where do you see the tap? That seems that he tried to find his way through your arms.
Overeem was then booed from the Octagon by the fans present in Ohio, after he had filed a claim that turned out to be false.
