The Irish competitioner has long branded his award as a champion, since he continued the undefeated start of his MMA career in the Octagon.
Although Savkat Rakhmonov briefly made his progress by beating him last December, Machado Garry defeated the rising Carlos Prates in April and immediately bounced back.
And 'The Future' wasted little time to inserting his name in the championship interview. He weighed the backup hunter for the UFC 315 Main Event, where Jack della Maddalena Belal Muhammad defeated to win the 170 pound belt.

As a backup, a discussion has long been in the UFC, with some hunters showing a complete lack of interest.
However, Machado Garry would like to do it again.
De Irishman explained during a performance on the Ariel Helwani why it would be backup for the second time of a no-brainer-under the right circumstances.
“Oh, I think I would definitely do it again,” said Machado Garry. “Mentally preparing for a fight is something that I like. I get the chance to go inside and fight, I enjoy even more.
“Of course it should be logical for me to get ready, prepare for a fight and then have something – whether it has a fight or I have a fight for that.
“I would like to prepare for something that is locked up and make sure that I come in mentally and go:” Right, I get something at the end of this. “
“The example of the prates was perfect. I fight Prates, two weeks later, three weeks later, a month later, ready to weigh again in case I needed. I would do that again in a heartbeat.”

“I think the idea behind back -up hunters is a bit stupid or there must be different stimuli and things involved.
“I think it should be devised more. I cannot imagine that a man is being paid to arrive. That is not the sport, that is not the name of the game. I think fighting should be done and deadlines should be done.
“I think a lot of boys are getting lax, many boys use different meshes that they can exploit.”
Perhaps such comments have contributed to the UFC's decision not to consider Whittaker for a coming replacement position.
