Lamine Yamal makes contract demand for Barcelona renewal

Barcelona and Lamine Yamal seem to be destroyed this summer to a long -term agreement, but as President Joan Laporta admitted earlier this week, the signature still has to be added to the contract. If there was some doubt about the interests of the 17-year-old for their project, his new contract will clean it up.

“We will have to suffer,” said Laporta with regard to the new deal of Lamine Yamal, which they have again negotiated with agent Jorge Mendes. The summer of 2023, Barcelona corresponded to a three -year contract renewal, agreed with the raw conditions to extend that deal until 2030 or 2031 as soon as it turned 18. The maximum contract length for which a player under the age of 18 can sign is three years.

However, Barcelona had to negotiate again this season on those conditions, as a result of his rapid rise of the top of world football. The Blaugrana are happy to do this, the feeling that he must get a deal that reflects his status, and in the end he happily keeps him in the club to which he regularly explains his loyalty.

According to Cadena Ser, the shorter version of their recent negotiations is that Lamine Yamal wants to become the best -paid player of Barcelona. Currently it is Robert Lewandowski, who, according to them, earns € 16 million net per year.

The Blaugrana wants to place Lamine Yamal at the top of their wage scale, but it is not clear whether that is the new one, or that Lewandowski is at the top. They believe that the deal of the Polish attacker is outdated and that they have to negotiate again about lower conditions with the 36-year-old to bring his income down.

Liverpool attacker Luis Diaz was cited as the top objective for Barcelona this summer, and perhaps the only one, with director of Football Deco who invests most of the available budget in contract innovations. Allegedly a deal with Raphinha has been closed on a new deal, but after Pedri and Ronald Arajo had also signed new deals in January, Frenkie de Jong is the following on the list.
