Viktor Gyokeres has drawn his sporty Lisbon teammates that “he is not a fortune teller” after he was repeatedly asked if he is leaving this summer. Gyokeres is chased by various top European clubs after compiling a stunning campaign for sport, but nothing has been arranged yet.
The 26-year-old Center-Forward has achieved 53 goals and 13 assists in 51 games at all competitions and could end the campaign with two trophies. Sporting closed the competition and is now confronted with Rivals Benfica in the Portuguese Cup final on Sunday.
As soon as that game is avoided, it is expected that it is an open season for transfer discussions, with sporty happy to sell for £ 60 million. While Manchester United is considered contenders, the Portuguese newspaper O Jogo claimed that Gyokeres is 'on his way to Arsenal'.
It is clear that Gyokees teammates do not know if that is true, given the insight of midfielder Pedro Goncalves. “I asked him and we asked him all. He says he is not a fortune teller. We still have the Portuguese cup against Benfica to play,” he told Canal 11.
“I have a very good relationship with him, but I don't talk to him. What I know is because of Fabrizio Romano … I will stay with him. I don't know if he's going to leave.”
Arsenal is ready to splash the money to sign a world -class striker this summer and the new sports director Andrea Berta has made the signing of Gyokeres his top priority.
