Liverpool -striker Darwin Nunez seems destined for a summer transfer away from Anfield and Manchester United has received an opinion about the International Uruguay International
Former Manchester United -Spits Dwight Yorke has encouraged the club to make a surprise movement for Darwin Nunez in Liverpool. The International in Uruguay seems ready to leave Anfield this summer, but his next destination still has to be confirmed.
Atletico Madrid belongs to the clubs that are assumed to be in the mix for Nunez. They may also have the upper hand, with the former Benfica star reportedly for a move to the Spanish capital.
There have also been interest in interest from Saudi Arabia, although a European stay seems to be the preferred of the player. United itself has not been associated, but is expected to strengthen them in the attack after a tough season for the goal for the leading man Rasmus Hojlund.
“He has not fully met the expectations and sometimes a new start might be a good thing for a player, instead of being there and just being a different song and occasionally getting a game time,” Yorke told Gamblingindustrynews.com. “What I see is a person who wants a platform to become the top man of the football club. He doesn't get that with Mo Salah and Virgil van Dijk and the other players they have there.
“I think for myself personally when I was united, I know that the Liverpool and the man of the man united is a gap there, but I look further. I look at the young man who has a good presence, who has a little skin in him, who has all the ingredients to be even better than what he produces on the minute.”
Nunez came to Liverpool in the summer of 2022 for a first £ 64 million plus to £ 21 million in add-ons. However, he seems ready to leave Anfield with another three years of his deal.
He scored 48 goals in all competitions in his last Benfica season, but has to reach that count in three seasons as a Liverpool player. Only seven of his 40 Reds goals have arrived this season, with manager Arne Slot tend to use him as a replacement.
Liverpool Boss Slot has pointed to the need for added weapons after his rotation was not paid off in some controversial defeats. The comments come after the Dutchman criticized for his approach during a draw with Aston Villa in February, in which he missed a golden chance.
“I prefer that he scores, but the word” Chance, “says it all,” said Slot at the time. “It's an opportunity, so it's not 100 percent sure that the ball goes in, and players miss opportunities,”
“What was a bit harder for me to accept was his behavior after that chance. I think it was too much in his head, where he was not the usual Darwin who works his A ** and ensures that he helps the team.”
