EXCLUSIVE: Paul Gascoigne thinks Spurs should keep Postecoglou if they win UEL

Tottenham Hotspur -hero Paul Gascoigne says that manager Ange Postecoglou should keep his job if Spurs wins the Europa League final tonight.

Spurs meet Manchester United in Bilbao, while both parties are just outside the relegation zone in the Premier League.

But Gascoigne told Tribalfootball.com: “I think so (Postecoglou must keep his job).

“I think he will trust that. He may have already been told to look for another club because he could get the bag. So it's not going well for him, bless him. I think some players have abandoned him.

“(Everyone in particular?) I just think the whole team in general. I think the whole team can hold their hands, they have had a bad season.”

A fan of Bruno Fernandes

In the meantime, United, on the other side of the field, will lean on captain Bruno Fernandes to produce a special version, and Gascoigne admits that he is a fan of the Portuguese.

He said: “I like him. He has an engine and I like it when he plays, he also organizes players and tells them where they should go. It's like you have an extra manager, but he is on the field!

“He scores a number of great goals and he really comes around the field. Both teams have to win this competition, I only think for a bit of a buzz.”

Can't believe Tottenham Premier League position

In Spurs that is in 17th place, Gascoigne admits that the situation of the club has left him stunned.

He continued: “I just can't believe it. Even Man United is doing so badly, just wow. Now nowadays I really don't try to watch much football because I still miss it, but if I look at the Lage tables and things, I can't believe it.

“When I played, when a team wins the Premier League with five more games, it is a bit discouraging. It happened to me twice. When the seasons end, I booked a vacation, I am so excited. And two games and I am injured.

“I spent my vacation in the Princess Beach Hospital. Then you get some of your teammates who get shy from tackles. They don't go in solid in case they get injured. You get a lot, I tell you!”
