Allegri favourite to replace Ruben Amorim after Man Utd manager threatens to walk with Mourinho and Glasner also in race

Ruben Amorim is willing to run away from Manchester United – but which managers are on the shortlist to replace him?

The Portuguese boss, 40, was only appointed six months ago, but supervised the worst period in the recent history of the club.

United missed the chance to end another horror season on a positive note, because they were beaten 1-0 on Wednesday evening by Tottenham in the Europa League final.

Amorim immediately claimed that he would stop Trafford without payment if the board and fans decide that his time is over.

He said: “I am always open, if they feel that I am not the right man, I will go without any conversation about compensation the next day.

“But I will not stop. I really have faith in my work. As you can see, I will not change anything in how I do things.”

United was seven points at a Champions League spot when Amorim Erik ten Hag replaced, but now a remarkable twenty -seven points are in fifth place.

Nevertheless, Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Co support the man who has picked up only nine points since December, because United reached a new low point every week.

But although the Post Sir Alex Ferguson era has gotten worse and worse, no manager has had the humiliation to be 16th in the Prem-Table, where the Cash-Less team needs a whole overhaul.

Sunsport looks at the six candidates to replace Amorim if he decides to go to the sustainable revolving door.

Massimiliano Allegri

Former Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri leads the gambling markets on 4/1, according to Betfair.

The pragmatic 58-year-old-praised as an “extraordinary technician” by Sir Alex-Was a leader in October 2024 before Amorim was hired.

It is claimed that he was involved in angry scholarships with civil servants, a reporter and sports director Cristiano Giuntoli after the 1-0 win over Atalanta – who has largely contributed to receiving the boot.

The decorated coach won five Serie A titles with Juve, as well as five competition cups.

He also reached two Champions League final during his first Stint that was in charge before he returned in 2021 to manage them for another three years.

Allegri managed AC Milan for the first time between 2010 and 2014 and won Serie A in the 2010-11 season.

Kieran McKenna

Ipswich boss McKenna was also on the shortlist of the united of the candidates to replace ten HAG last year.

De Noord -Ier – that coach was under Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at United – is still being kept high, even though it is unable to prevent relegation with the tractor boys.

McKenna knows United Inside Out, but whether he is ready to promote the largest team in England is a different story – just look at Amorim.

Ipswich won back-to-back promotions from League One to the Prem, which ended the 22-year absence of the club, under his custody.

Jose Mourinho

He couldn't do it. Would he?

The special is a stunning 6/1 favorite to make a stunning return to Old Trafford and to take over his former student.

Mourinho led United to their last European Cup victory in 2017 and it is difficult to imagine that he loses to trace in every final.

The 62-year-old, who is about to finish second in the Super Lig in his debut campaign with Fenerbahce, spent a little more than two seasons with United before he was fired in December 2018.

The former Chelsea boss then spent two years at Spurs before things became acidic in 2019, with United going until 2023 trophy-less.

The chance that Ratcliffe will bring him back seems slim, especially given its history in the past with the Chaos Club that no longer needs scandals.

But serial winner Mourinho loves the premium and will believe that he can find success everywhere – before he inevitably fails with everyone.

Oliver Glasner

The boss of Crystal Palace Oliver Glasner is at a record high after his FA Cup success against Manchester City.

Just like Postecoglou, the 17-year-old drought of Spurs ended last night, Glasner Palace's first trophy once won in the 120-year history of the club.

The 50-year-old has experience with success and led Eintracht Frankfurt to Europa League Glory in 2022.

He also lifted the Austrian cup twice with SV Ried, where he spent most of his play career.

Glasner has never lost a goal or admitted to Man Utd, so that they were hit 4-0 within a few months of the Palace in May 2024.

Mauricio Pochettino

Spurs -fans wanted Pochettino back before Ange finally delivered a trophy this week.

Pochettino, currently paid to his American National Team Course, is available on 7/1 to return a fourth stint in the prems.

The Argentinian previously managed Southampton, Tottenham and Chelsea, which he left behind last year due to mutual permission.

But Poch, fired in 2019, only a few months after leading tracks to the Champions League final, talked about “unfinished things” in North Londs.

While the 53-year-old was ever considered a future legendary boss, United fans do not want to become his fifth Prem Club.

Gareth Southgate

The former boss of England has been from management since he left his role in the Drie Leeuwen after the Euro 2024 final.

In October he ruled himself for at least 12 months from any dugout jobs – but may have turned the football back forever.

Southgate – who writes a book, was a technical observer for UEFA and the Richard Dimbleby lecture of the BBC gave – said: “I will not be sure the following year. I am sure.

“I have to give myself time to make good decisions. If you come from a very big role, you have to give your body time, you have to give your mind time.”

The former Middlesbrough coach was somehow strongly linked to the Old Trafford HotSeat last summer, in the midst of uncertainty about the future of Ten Hag.

Southgate is said to have admirers within Ineos, but the fans will certainly religions when he arrives as Gaffer.
