Alexander Volkanovski denied desired UFC title defense as undefeated contender accepts different fight

Alexander Volkanovski's wish to defend his UFC -Fedweight title against Movsar Evloev Next is closed.

On UFC 314 last April, Alexander Volkanovski recaptured the UFC -Fedweight title when he applied a vintage performance against Diego Lopes and won the fight by a dominant unanimous decision.

After the fight, Alexander made 'The Great' very clear that he wanted to fight title rule against the undefeated Russian, Movsar Evloev for his first title defense of his second 145LB.

With Evloev who had been waiting for a title shot for some time, it seemed inevitable that these two would collide afterwards, with Evloev even promised to beat Volkanovski only if he got the fight.

Movsar Evloev accepts another fight despite Volkanovski interest

Despite the mutual interest in a title fight between Volkanovski and Evloev, the 19-0 featherweight went to social media last Thursday evening to reveal that he has accepted another fight.

“If you are a UFC hunter and believe that you are the best in the world, then you have to fight against every fight they are throwing at you, no risk. Not a reward. See you in July, it's on #ufcabudhabi,” Evloev said.

“Thank you Alexander Volkanovski to try to fight, I will fight in July and you will fight in September, hopefully we will both win and we can meet in December,” he continued.

Bloody elbow sources have indicated that the fight that EVLOEV has held will be against the recently signed Bellator prospect, Aaron Pico. The competition will be a five-round Co-Main event at the UFC Fight Night event of July 26 in Abu Dhabi.

The Russian was previously linked to a fight against Pico when he became a member for the first time, but prior to UFC 314, Evloev and his team the potential fight.

Who will then fight Alexander Volkanovski?

With EVLOEV who claims that Volkanovski will fight in September, suggests that the promotion may be aimed at the Australian to head the Nouch UFC event at UFC 320.

UFC 320 was hit earlier this week with a huge blow when the Arena Guadalajara that was supposed to host that it was struck with different opening delays, which means that it is no longer available before September 13.
