Former Barcelona boss Xavi Hernandez is not expected to return to a management position to at least 2026.
The ex-middengielder has been out of the game since his departure from La Blaugrana in May 2024 after a controversial end to his term of office.
Xavi led Barcelona to the La Liga title in his first full season that was in charge in 2022/23, but his last months that were in charge were filled with negativity.
The 45-year-old talked openly about his eagerness to take on a new role, but there is still some persistent frustration about how it ended in Barcelona.
“There is no hurry for me, but I want a good project. Such as:” You have four years to work and make a project. “I would like to work in the Premier League, I love the passion there. In Spain it is too much about the result,” he said an interview with the Athletic.
“I am ready to 'suffer' again, but I don't think I will suffer more than I have suffered from Barca. It was too emotional for me because I was also a supporter.”
Xavi's remark on the Premier League repeats the general position that England is his next destination – but he is happy to wait.
Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham can all be on the market this summer for a new manager with reports from Diario, because he indicates that he will wait.
All three have a certain degree of uncertainty, in which Ruben Amorim is unable to make an impact at Old Trafford, and Ange Postecoglou's Europa League success can give him a second chance of spurs.
The above report indicates that Xavi had the opportunity to be Tite's assistant at the FIFA World Cup 2022 with a view to replacing him as a Brazilian boss in 2023.
That door is now clearly closed with Carlo Ancelotti who takes the lead over the Samba boys – and Luis de la Fuente enjoys an excellent run like Spain -Baas – but the jobs in France and England will be vacant after the World Cup 2026.
