Florian Wirtz had searched Bayern Munich this summer, but the rise of Liverpool is explained by his recent comments. Liverpool jumped on the front of the row for the Bayer Leverkusen star and is now in negotiations with the German club and have faith in smelling things quickly.
Bayern is used to picking up the best talent from the Bundesliga and was considered the most likely destination for Wirtz. The 22-year-old attacking midfielder has been the best player in Germany for the past two seasons and there is a well-affected path that leads to Bavaria.
Manchester City had previously shown interest, but is supposed to have withdrawn when they heard from Leverkusen's £ 120 million asking price. Now Liverpool, led by sports director Richard Hughes, is moving forward with a deal, with Wirtz moving to the Premier League with teammate Jeremie Frimpong, instead of staying in the Bundesliga.
Recently pronounced, the German international explained why he wanted to try something new after achieving 16 goals and 15 assists for Leverkusen this season.
“I am very lucky that I have so many excellent clubs at my door and can now play for one of the best clubs in Germany and Europe,” he told Sports Illustrated Germany.
“I have a lot of respect for the boys here in Leverkusen, who, for example, come from South America or Africa and leave their families and surroundings for their career.
“I absolutely like to leave my comfort zone at one point and experience something new. I know that the changing rooms of football are good enough and I am convinced that I would soon find a place everywhere.”
Wirtz has a close relationship with his parents, who represent him in negotiations. He is supposed to have flown to the northwest of England to explore potential places to live if he would join Liverpool, who has reserved a lot of money for transfer after signing Federico Chiesa last summer.

He would like to collaborate with Arne Slot, who won the Premier League title in his first season with Liverpool, and more importantly to find the right club for his development. “When I moved from Keulen to Leverkusen, I didn't think about my salary for a second, but only about what was best for my career,” he explained.
“I don't even think about how much money I have in my account or what I could earn in the future. Of course you have to make sure you get a good contract. But for me the sporting perspective is much more important than the money. And I think my parents would be angry if I was too fixed on money.
“After I moved to Leverkusen at the age of 16, my parents managed my salary and sent me 150 euros a month. That was me. It was important for my parents that I didn't do anything stupid with my salary.”
