The FIFA president Gianni Infantino appeared bizarre this week on the YouTube channel of Ishowspeed to reveal the Club World Cup trophy.
Ishowspeed – whose real name Darren Watkins is – streamed live to his nearly 40 million subscribers when Infantino suddenly appeared in the background with the first official game ball to be used at this summer's tournament.
In addition to donating him the ball under the agreement he brings to Hard Rock Stadium in Miami for the opening match of the competition on 14 June, the football chef Watkins also left astonished when he brought forward the glamorous Club World Cup trophy.
He also demonstrated how the center of the unique golden shield can be turned using a 'magical key' to 'shine to the world'.
“Who designed who might be in Greek mythology or something,” Watkins joked.
During their conversation about the stream, Infantino continued with the YouTube star that his favorite football player, Cristiano Ronaldo, might appear a shock this summer in the Club World Cup, despite his club in Saudi -Arabia, already Nassr, are not eligible.
“Cristiano Ronaldo could play in the club World Cup,” he told Watkins. 'There are discussions with some clubs, so if a club watches and is interested in hiring Ronaldo for the club World Cup, who knows. Still a few weeks, will be fun. '
FIFA confirmed on Wednesday that last-minute transfer signing sessions are open to all teams going to the tournament, has fueled more speculation that one of them will try to sign the 40-year-old Ronaldo for a short-term agreement, possibly a loan.
Such a step would be unprecedented in modern football, although could address FIFA by stimulating the profile and ticket sales of an inaugural tournament that is played in 11 American cities.
A transfer for Ronaldo would also reunite him and Lionel Messi for the first time since the 2022 World Cup in Qatar in the same competition.
Last October, FIFA Messi's Inter Miami invited to enter the tournament in the lock, which was expected to be reserved for the champion of the host country. Inter Miami was eliminated in the MLS Cup play -offs.
