Dricus du Plessis and Khamzat Chimaev snubbed as PFL star is named the ‘best middleweight in the world’

Could there be a man outside the UFC who can beat both Dricus du Plessis and Khamzat Chimaev?

Du Plessis and Chimaev will fight on UFC 319 in Chicago on 16 August, because the latter will be set for his first chance in earning champion status on MMA's largest stage.

After he has moved from Welterweight, 'Borz' Kamaru Usman and Robert Whittaker defeated to secure a title shot. 'Stillknocks' has since remained unbeaten in the UFC after striking versions against people such as Whittaker, Sean Strickland and Israel Adesanya.

Those winning runs have left a lot of branding the couple as the clear top two out of 185 pounds. But according to a reputable coach, neither of them could handle the top middleweight from the PFL to the table.

Coach Mike Brown is insisting that Johnny Eeblen is better than UFC's Dricus du Persis and Khamzat Chimaev

During a recent interview with MMA Fighting, the American top team trainer Mike Brown spoke about a number of hunters in his gym.

One of the top names is Johnny Eblen, a 16-0 professional who held the Bellator Middenweight title when the promotion was taken over by the PFL.

In anticipation of the return of Eeblen, Brown made a daring claim about 'Johnny print'.

“Johnny Eeblen is the best middleweight in the world,” said Brown. “Today, now, he is the best middleweight in the world. You put him against everyone and he wins, I believe that.

“Striking, conditioning, struggling, struggling … When things get bad in the fight, he finds ways to overcome it. Poor cut? Are startled? Anyway, he finds a way.

“The sport is crazy, everything can happen. But I think this guy is the best middleweight in the world,” Brown added.

Johnny Eeblen has the chance to prove his talents again before Dricus du Plessis vs. Khamzat Chimaev

Before Du Plessis and Chimaev Joust about the UFC Middleweight title in Illinois, Eble will be shown at a historical event in the home country of South African.

Eeblen vs. Costello van Steenis, presumably for the new middleweight world title of the PFL, is one of the attacks established for PFL Africa on July 19.

In the midst of constant uncertainty about the plans of the UFC to debut on the continent, the PFL will try to make a splash in Africa with their Champions Series card in the Grandwest Arena of Cape Town.

The recent date change of the event means that PFL Africa will take place on the same day as the Max Holloway vs. Dustin Poirier-Headlined UFC 318 Pay-per-View.
