Erik ten Hag reaches agreement to replace Xabi Alonso at Bayer Leverkusen

Erik Tien Hag has reached an agreement in director to join Bayer Leverkusen as their next head coach, according to a report.

The former manager of Manchester United would replace Xabi Alonso to the helm, of whom it is expected that this summer will take over the reign of Carlo Ancelotti in Real Madrid.

Alonso confirmed at the beginning of the month that he will leave Leverkusen at the end of the season after almost two and a half years.

Ten Hag has not been in a job since he was liberated from his duties in Old Trafford last October.

The 55-year-old still continues to pay compensation by Man United and is charged in his hometown in the Netherlands before he immediately jumps back into management.

But now Ten Hag and Leverkusen are working on the final documents of their deal, since the Dutch approach to football, according to athletics.

Ten Hag was fired earlier this season with Man United in 14th place in the Premier League after winning only four of their opening 14 games.

His departure came despite the fact that the club caused a contract extension of a year last summer.

The extension of ten hag followed him who led the club to the FA Cup, after he also won the Carabao Cup in his first full season that was in charge.

He had previously served as a coach of the second team of Bayern Munich between 2015 and 2017, when Pep Guardiola led the senior side.

Ten Hag then enjoyed an impressive spell at Utrecht, before he led Ajax to three consecutive Dutch titles and the semi -final of the Champions League 2019.

His predecessor at Leverkusen led the club to the Bundesliga title last season and went undefeated in the process.

Alonso's side, however, this time was beaten by Bayern Munich in the title.
