Arsenal captain Kim Little said that their Champions League -Triumph would be 'in history as one of the best moments this club has ever had'.
Beth Mead offered the assist for the second half of Stina Blackstenius against reigning champion Barcelona-a decisive attack that ended the 18-year-old waiting of Arsenal for European silverware.
Little, 34, who came to the club a year after their last European success in 2007, said: 'It's very special for me. I have clearly been to the club for a long time and we have had incredible periods in which we have been successful.
'To still be in the club after that long period (since 2007), and to see how much has been invested in the women's game and in us as players, it is very special to sit here from winning the ultimate trophy for a football club and it is definitely the best moment of my career.
“I'm not sure if it has sunk. To have won a Champions League with Arsenal, it will certainly go into history as one of the best moments this club has ever had. I am sure we will think about it days after this day and really see that. '
Despite the fact that he has won the competition three times in the past four seasons, Barcelona could not overcome a determined arsenal performance.
Little added: 'We knew that we came in this game that we should actually be perfect to beat a Barcelona team that has been one of the best in Europe in recent years.
'I think the team showed incredible discipline and focus during the game to achieve that. To enter Beth and Stina and make that impact is incredible. '
Renee Sleers, the 36-year-old manager who had been elevated to the permanent role from interim manager only four months ago, warned that more could come from her side.
The Arsenal -Baas said: 'There are so many things that happened this season and so many difficult times. We have always brought back and faith grew every day in the season.
'I am so happy for everyone that they have received the rewards today. They are so worth it. They worked extremely hard. Of course we will think and take all this. There is more in this team and that is the scary part.
'We will really celebrate and enjoy the moment tonight. Then we come back and I am so enthusiastic about more with this team. '
Arsenal -fans get the chance to celebrate on Monday with the team and the trophy, with the club that partys outside the Emirates on Armory Square.
