Alexander Volkov focuses on Jon Jones about stuck UFC Heavyweight Division
In a recent interview with the Russian publication championat, Alexander Volkov weighed on the Jones vs. Aspinall Saga.
“Of course I have a negative opinion about the delay of the Jones-Aspinall fight, because my chances of fighting for the championship title are getting smaller and up,” Volkov said about the Jones versus Aspinall situation.
“In other weight classes there is a real conveyor belt of fighting. That is why I am unhappy. I would have had the opportunity to test myself long ago in a title fight like Jones was not.
“But I can understand him. The UFC gives him this privilege, he feels like he is the master of the situation. Jon knows that he will certainly be valuable to the UFC. And he just benefits from it …
“And the question here is not so much about Jon Jones, but about the fact that the UFC enables him to behave in this way and shows him excessive loyalty. As a result, everyone waits for it.”
Volkov recently rejected a fight with Jilton Almeida after a controversial loss for Ciryl Gane at UFC 310. He lost through a split decision to leave in a fight that White believes that Volkov F- -'has the jury's scorecards.
Aspinall recently became the longest interim champion of the UFC, while he keeps waiting for Jones to sign the dotted line. Aspinall has not fought anymore since he defended the Interim -Riem against Curtis Blaydes on UFC 304 in July.
