The future of Conte was clouded during the last month of the season and the Laurentiis was asked on Saturday evening if his coach would remain.
“Is this a question to ask about a marriage? If someone is not happy in an environment, then he needs a change of environment, just like (Luciani) Spalletti,” the Laurentiis replied.
“There is respect with Conte, I thank him for the Scudetto two years after the last. It is not easy for a club in southern Italy to win two Series A titles in the room of three years.”
He added: “Compared to the Spalletti Scudetto, this was one that we protected in the last miles. However, it is not true that this was a weaker competition, like all teams strengthened.”
