Barcelona captain sends message to Femeni players after Champions League final defeat

Both Barcelona men's and DameS teams have endured the heartache in the Champions League of this season, and especially the last one. On Saturday they fell on an unexpected 1-0 defeat against Arsenal in the final, who denied them the opportunity to become European champions again.

There was a lot of disappointment among the players on the Pere Romeu side, when they missed the winning of the Women's Champions League of 2024-25, but there was also a lot of pride from Barcelona.

And that feeling was made clear by Barcelona men's captain Marc-Andre ter Stegen, who went to Instagram to send a message to the Femeni players after their Champions League-defined defeat against Arsenal, according to MD.

“It is not the end that we all expected, but the path you made is fantastic. We are proud of this team. The best yet to come.”

Barcelona Femeni -Superster Aitana Bolmati, the current Ballon d'Or holder, also responded to the Arsenal -Letter in its own position on social media (via MD).

“It is difficult to accept days like yesterday when we work all season. However, we showed on different occasions that we are coming back with the same ambition and desire to be better. And this time it will be no different. We will give everything to return to our highest level.

“I don't want to forget. Thanks Barça, family and friends, for always guiding and supporting us. I'm sorry for you, for your unconditional support and for being unable to lift the fourth in Lisbon.”

It has still been a good season for Barcelona Femeni despite their disappointment in the Women's Champions League – and it's not over yet. They have already won Liga F and in two weeks they will go to Atletico Madrid in the final of Copa de la Reina.
