Ange Postecoglou has defended his record in the midst of speculation about his Tottenham Future.
Postecoglou, 59, has passed a mixed second season at Spurs, with the Australian the club to end their 17-year-old trophy-dryte last week when they won the Europa League.
Despite their European success, Tottenham has passed a gloomy Premier League campaign when they lost 22 of 38 games, took 38 points and 17th ended after a 4-1 thrashing at home by Brighton on the last day.
This has led to various reports that claim that Postecoglou is fired – in which the Australian comes under pressure during the campaign – but the historic Europa League -Triumph of Spurs can help him retain his job.
And speaking on Sunday, the 59-year-old, who has been steadfast in the righteous of his work, responded to questions about his future.
'How do I rate the season? Excellent, “he said. 'We have won a trophy that we have not done for 17 years and we are in the Champions League.
'I will be honest, I think it is strange to talk about my future if we have done something unprecedented.
“I made decisions that I felt to give our best chance to achieve the goal we had to achieve and that has influenced our competition form. If people don't want to take that into account, then there is nothing I can say. '
Postecoglou continued to point to the Europa League triumph as a characteristic of the good work he does at Spurs, but insisted that the situation is outside of his control.
“Some of me think,” Why is that question asked to me? “,” He added. “I did something that nobody believed that I could do, and I shouldn't be talking about this here, but you would not ask if there was no doubt, right?
“I can't answer it. Other people cannot and from my perspective it does not reduce performance. '
In the meantime, Roy Keane and Jamie Redknapp also weighed after two seasons in Noord -Londen on the future of Postecoglou who have seen the Australian win of 47 of 101 games.
Keane seemed to give his support to the Australian while he said: “He is under contract. It is unfair to keep asking about his situation. I hear that other managers are not constantly being asked, so why should he answer that?
“He is undoubtedly under pressure, but he is under contract. I fully expect him to return unless he is fired.
“He is on the back of a great success in the week. Of course their form of competitive is shocking, but you think the fact that he has won a trophy, they have the Champions League to look forward to, he would get a kind of support.
'But again if he is under contract, why does he have to constantly answer questions? I don't really get it. '
Redknapp also threw his support behind Postcoglou, although he emphasized the 'bizarre' season that Spurs has had – and added that the Australian is some criticism.
“I said earlier that if he wins this week in Europe, he must keep his job,” he explained.
'Forget what happened because it has been such a disappointing campaign … almost the most bizarre campaign. How can you end so low but a European Cup win?
'You have to credit it for that, because that was his assignment. What he said in the middle season was one of the great quotes of all time: “I always win something in my second season”.
'To have the guts to say that and to deliver it almost my mind, but I don't get that atmosphere or feeling (he will be there), I get the feeling that things do not necessarily go to his advantage.
“He deserves another season, and yes, they have had injuries, but you still shouldn't perform that way.”
