Liverpool has lifted the title title for the 20th time on Sunday afternoon, but Arne Slot is expected to still have a busy summer with a number of arrivals and departure
Caoimhin Kelleher has confirmed that he will try to leave Liverpool for meadows who are new this summer. The 26-year-old keeper earned a Premier League winner medal on Sunday when the Reds finally got the title after a 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace.
The Republic of Ireland International played 10 times this season at the top of the top after Alisson had previously suffered a hamstring injury in the campaign.
However, Kelleher has now unveiled during an interview with Optus Sport that he is certainly planning to try something new next season. He said, when he was asked if he wants to play football regularly elsewhere: “Yes, yes for sure.
“I also said it before, I have the feeling that I am good enough to be a number 1 and I have the feeling that I am good enough to play week, week out and that is what I want to do. This season I was lucky to play a lot of games, but it is definitely something I am watching.”
Liverpool has already secured the signing of the replacement of Kelleher. Valencia goalkeeper and Georgia International Giorgi Mamardashvili will arrive in Anfield this summer after a deal with a value of £ 25 million plus £ 4 million in add-ons last August.
And Mhamardashvili recently revealed that he is planning to stay on Merseyside next season, even if he remains a second choice for Alisson, who has previously attracted interest from the Saudi Pro League.
Mamaardashvili said: “They look at me as the Liverpool goalkeeper for the next ten years. So my next step will be the same as in Valencia, that I will prove myself and show what I can do.
“The most important thing is patience, training and hard work. Everything else will come. I am not considering another loan. I will spend in Liverpool next season, I think it will be good and training with Alisson will help me grow and gain experience.”
In the meantime, Liverpool's Brazilian has revealed that he is “tired of parties”, because the Reds celebrate their second Premier League triumph last month that was secured after a 5-1 demolition of Spurs at the end of April.
Alisson said: “To be honest, I am a bit tired of parties! Four weeks in a row celebrates after the game against Spurs.
“Of course we knew that we were champions, but today you can do it with the silverware on your chest. Today everything is full, everything is complete, we will celebrate a lot.
“Today we have a full house to celebrate for our fans. They are a huge part of this club, I feel most of this club, everything we do, we don't just do it for ourselves or for our families.
“Of course we have individual ambitions, ambitions such as a team, but every time we go on the field and work so hard, we also do it for them. Nothing fairer than we can enjoy and celebrate for them. It makes everything more special.”
