Enzo Maresca: Chelsea boss doubles down on ‘outburst’ against critics after achieving Champions League qualification

Chelsea -Baas Enzo Maresca doubled “Outburst” during his weekend who saw him tell his critics “F *** off” after his party had reached the Champions League qualification on the last day of the Premier League season.

The blues achieved a return to the Champions League on Sunday by aiming Nottingham Forest with 1-0.

With the help of the press conference after the game as an opportunity to bite back with critics, Maresca explained, despite constant error binding, he had no doubt about reaching Champions League football.

Levi Colwill, scorer of the winning goal on the city ground, also expressed his relief after constant criticism and said, “Everyone spoke a lot about us this season.”

When asked about both his player's reaction after their qualification of the Champions League, Maresca explained that it was the natural result of what they considered unfair reviews on their part.

“I think it's a good reaction from the players,” Maresca said to Real Betis on Wednesday prior to the Europa Conference League final.

“Levi's reaction, my response, was only an eruption for the time being. The reason is that, in our bad moments or bad runs during the season, in February March, when we dropped points, many people were talking from our point of view. They did not speak in the right way.

“If you ask them, they say they spoke in the right way from their point of view, but from our point of view they were not. And the reason why is because, yes, we are the youngest [squad] In the history of the Premier League, but at the same time they are men.

“I also use the critics to say guys today, it is a chance that we can say that we are not young, we are mature enough, we can compete and we can do the right things.”

'Jackson is to blame for us'

Maresca also told the press that his striker, Nicolas Jackson, has a debt to pay his teammates after his red card against Newcastle has endangered their hope.

Jackson sends because of violent behavior during a 2-0 defeat in St James' Park meant that the last two Premier League matches of the season of his side missed. The 23-year-old, however, returns to the MatchDay team for their Conference League final in Wroclaw, where, according to Maresca, he likes to do well.

“Nico [Jackson] Is in debt with his teammates, “he said.

“The reason is that at that time Newcastle Away was the most important game for us and he left his teammates with 10 players for an hour.

“Certainly, he has the debts. He is certainly a good guy. He certainly recognized the mistake. He apologized with his teammates. That is very important. And I am sure he will do a very good game for us.”
