Former Liverpool -star Willie Stevenson died at the age of 85.
The Scot made 241 performances for the club in the sixties and won two league titles under Bill Shankly.
Liverpool announced his death on X on X and paid tribute to Stevenson.
A club statement was: 'We are deeply sad due to the death of the former player Willie Stevenson.
“The thoughts of everyone at Liverpool FC are with Willie's loved ones in this sad time.”
Stevenson was signed for £ 20,000 by Shankly in October 1962 and then won the first division while playing for his colleague Scot in 1964 and 1966.
He was also part of the team that Liverpool's very first FA Cup ever won in 1965.
Stevenson also played for Stoke, Tranmere, Vancouver WhiteCaps and Macclesfield.
