Merab Dvalishvili admits it’s ‘hard to get 100 per cent motivated’ for Sean O’Malley rematch at UFC 316

Merab Dvalishvili has admitted that he finds it difficult to be fully motivated next month for his rematch with Sean O'Malley.

The Bantamweight champion won his world title of O'Malley back on UFC 306 and goes to Newark for the Rematch on UFC 316 on June 7. Despite the insistence of the former champion, it is generally assumed that DvalishVili dominated the procedure at a record -breaking show in Spher in Las Vegas.

And after beating Umar Nurmagomedov in January, the champion was instructed to oppose O'Malley again, although he has not fought in September in September.

Merab Dvalishvili admits that he is struggling for motivation prior to Sean O'Malley Rematch

After the first game there was not much appetite to see Sean O'Malley and Merab Dvalishvili fight again. The fight was not so close – or even entertaining – and the conviction was that Dvalishvili should be other challengers, where Petr Yan would make a better thing for a second fight.

“In my professional career this is my first rematch,” said Dvalishvili during a recent interview on The Believe You Me Podcast with Michael Bisping and Paul Felder. “In Georgia I fight pro -rules, but those fights are not on my official record.

“So I had a rematch at the start of my career before. And that does not count because I was so new in the game. Now it is the first rematch of my professional career. To be honest with you, I have already beaten him and it is difficult to be 100 percent motivated, you know?”

Merab Dvalishvili fights by broken toe for UFC 316

Another factor that influences Dvalishvili preparations is a brutal broken toe on his right foot. He has shown photos of the injury, which is comparable to what made Conor McGregor his comeback against Michael Chandler on UFC 303 last summer.

Dvalishvili insists that he has nine other toes that he can use instead of the one who is broken and that he will fight. “It's okay … I'm going to cut it off,” said Dvalishvili about his broken toe in a video on social media that revealed the injury.

It follows a daring moment at UFC 311 when he misled the Californian committee to not see his seriously injured leg before his first defending defense.
