UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier is just as familiar as everyone with how Jon Jones' spirit works.
UFC Heavyweight Champion Jones and Interim title holder Tom Aspinall can be on a collision course later this year. Despite months of negotiations, and the recent pension of Jones, UFC CEO Dana White does not remain put off in making the heavyweight matchup to flourish.
But earlier this month Jones made the headlines when he seemed to reject the idea that he had to return to the cage soon to fight Asinall, while he keeps waiting the British superstar for a shot on the undisputed belt. Aspinall has only fought once since earning the interim heavyweight title on UFC 295 in a first round knockout by Sergei Pavlovich.
In the midst of the recent pension of Jones, and the uncertainty with regard to the Aspinall fight, the greatest rival of the linear heavyweight believes that Jones' ego will ultimately lead to the matchup being booked.

Daniel Cormier explains why he believes that Jon Jones vs. Tom Aspinall will happen
During a recent episode of Funky and The Champ with Ben Askren, Daniel Cormier rated the latest comments from Jones about a UFC recovery.
'I don't know he empties without fighting [Tom]Because I think it would be visual and the lasting thought that “he ran from him,” and I don't think his ego can handle that he ran from someone, “Cormier said about Jones.
“The idea that people would think he is afraid means more to him than going outside and fighting him, and taking the chance. Especially if there is a real possibility that he just surpasses Tom Aspinall …
“I think he will fight against him, I don't think they should strip him, he will fight against him. He can walk away and go” I am the best, I don't have to do anything else, “Cormier continued. “But the idea that he ran will be too strong from an attraction for him while he enters the next phase of his career.”
Jones and Cormier fought twice during their career, where Jones got the upper hand in both matchups. Their rematch at UFC 214 was later destroyed into a no-contest after Jones had tested positively for a forbidden substance.
In the midst of his long waiting time for Jones, Aspinall defended the interim title in a first round finish about Curtis Blaydes on UFC 304 last July. In the meantime, Jones defeated Stipe Miocic in his long -awaited first heavyweight title defense on UFC 309.
