Paul was not the only option for the next fight by Chavez Jr, because he set the chance to box KSI instead.
The Mexican hunter admitted that he is not just the fight for the money. He said the game was bigger with Paul and that he wants to challenge Mike Tyson's recent defeat to Paul.
Chavez said to Esnews: 'When the offer came to me and I came back to see my friends here, Jake is bigger. People ask me: 'Is it one of the fighting with a better payment day for you? '
“It's not, it's okay, but the thing is the chance to give him a beating this time.
“I am fighting him because I want to beat him and that is the most important thing for me … I love Mike Tyson and I am the first man fighting Jake after he has defeated Mike Tyson and I want to take revenge for Mike Tyson.”
Chavez JR will fight against Paul in the Honda Center in Anaheim, California on 28 June.
