Liverpool star who wants to quit could get wish as Erik ten Hag given transfer green light

Liverpool -goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher has made no secret of his wish to play regularly and he could now get the chance to do this through a Premier League rival

Brentford has approached Liverpool with a potential deal for Caoimhin Kelleher as their first-choice goalkeeper, Mark Flekken, Rand closer to a shock movement to the Bundesliga with Bayer Leverkusen.

The bees are long -term admirers of Kelleher, 26, and left the Irish signature last summer. Flekken has been their first -choice keeper, but he is now the subject of transfer interest from Germany after another good season in the Premier League -and conversations about a switch have already taken place.

Leverkusen is now managed by Erik ten Hag, the former coach of Manchester United, who wants Flekken to strengthen their goalkeeper options prior to the 2025-26 campaign.

And because Flekken will probably continue, Brentford has now contacted Liverpool because they are looking for an agreement to finally bring Kelleher to West -London.

The Reds were a deal agreed for Giorgi Mhaldashvili with Valencia last summer and the Georgia International is expected to compete with Alisson for the number 1 Jersey who was ahead after spending a last season in Spain.

The arrival of the 24-year-old in Anfield means that Kelleher will probably be sold in the coming transfer window. The Guardian claims that West Ham and Leeds are also enthusiastic about the graduated Reds Academy, who made a total of 20 performances this period.

Brentford, however, has a strong relationship with Liverpool after signing Sepp Van den Berg last summer and that can give them the lead.

Despite the impressive for Liverpool and his ties with the club, Kelleher has made no secret of his wish to play regularly elsewhere and confirmed that he was planning to make a reality during the Reds's title celebrations on Sunday.

“Yes, yes,” he said. “I also said it before, I feel that I am good enough to be a number 1 and I feel that I am good enough to play out week in week and that is what I want to do.

“This season I was lucky to play a lot of games, but it is definitely something I am looking at.”

Kelleher has made a total of 67 performances for Liverpool since breaking the senior ranks behind Alisson, which is generally considered one of the best keepers of the Premier League.
