The chairman of Manchester City, Khaldoon Al Mubarak, says that signing sessions have already been identified and will be brought in for the World Cup of Club.
Manager Pep Guardiola said he would “stop” the city if he didn't get a smaller team after he had to omit several important players in the last games of the season.
Nevertheless, the citys have been associated with people like Morgan Gibbs-White from Nottingham Forest, Tijjani Reijnders from AC Milan and Rayan Cherki from Lyon, which suggests that the club is preparing to load a number of players in the coming months in what an important squadron will be.
City has qualified for the UEFA Champions League of next season, but did not succeed in lifting silverware last season, unless you count the Community Shield that Guardiola defended in one of his last press conferences.
Al Mubarak has talked to the club website about the ambition of the team on the way to the transfer market and how they want to do their business early before the start of the club World Cup, so that they can build a team that can improve next season.
“I can tell you today, we clearly determined who exactly the goals are, in which positions, and we have our clear number one option, our clear number two option,” he explained.
“And we will continue our company, and it will be very clear, very fast. Our goal is to try to be ready with the new team for the club World Cup.”
Al Mubarak says that he can feel a hunger in the team to fight again for the Premier League title and another Champions League trophy after what a bad season has been according to the standards of the city.
He sent a message to fans and stated that lessons will be learned and that next season will be a new beginning.
“We are coming back. This season is a season that is now behind us. Today is a new day. We start working and preparing for next season.
“And by the way, we have been doing that since January. And we will take all the good things and the not so good things of this season and learn from it and improve it and get better.
“I can assure you, this club will do everything possible to return to the standards that we know we can all achieve and we know, we will reach.”
