CESC Fabegas has made a promising start of his management career at Serie A Side Como, and this summer a return to Barcelona for the 38-year-old.
The first full season in Management of Fabregas saw him accompany the newly promoted como to an excellent 10th place in Serie A. and on the back he is linked to a number of top clubs throughout Europe, although he seems to stay in the Italian club for the time being.
If Fabregas continues to impress, it will not be long before he makes a big move, and the clubs would have his eyes, Barcelona is certainly one of them. He came through the ranks in La Masia before he came to Arsenal 2003, and he rode the Catalans again eight years later.
And this summer, Fabregas was set to return to Barcelona with Como. As reported by Sport, the Serie A -side has been selected as the favorite opponents of the La Liga champions for the Joan Gamper trophy, their typical season opener.
The bosses of Barcelona have evaluated a number of teams as the opponents for the Joan Gamper Trophy 2025, and according to the report, como are identified as the preferred club. An approach has yet to be done, but it is expected that people will come in the relatively near future.
The date for the Joan Gamper trophy is expected to be on August 10, which is about a week before the start of the LA Liga season 2025-26. The possibility to tackle Barcelona is one that would certainly enjoy Como and Fabregas, but for now there is still work to be done before an agreement is reached between the two clubs.
