Manchester United saw former boss Erik ten Hag attempt to land two of their players who are for sale after they have been appointed Bayer Leverkusen head coach after the Xabi Alonso exit
Erik ten Hag will look at Manchester United while he turns out to be his first movements such as Bayer Leverkusen -Baas. The Dutchman was appointed as the head coach of the Bundesliga side after the departure from Xabi Alonso to Real Madrid.
Taking over liverkusen marks the return of ten hag to football after looting by the Red Devils in October, after supervising a disappointing start of the season. That does not seem to have deterred him to keep an eye on Old Trafford when he looks at the signing sessions he hopes to make for his new team.
Leverkusen could still get away with a good deal of such an approach. United is ready to listen to offers for one of their team after a gloomy seasonal season, so that they end 15th in the Premier League.
And Ten Hag would like to land a united duo that has little hope for a future in the club. Kicker claims that both Antony and Alejandro Garnacho are discussed by the decision makers of Leverkusen.
A movement for Antony was deemed more likely, after the Brazil International was on loan for Real Betis. The former Ajaxas did not succeed in breaking in in the plans of Ruben Amorim and United wanted to cash in a player they signed for £ 82 million.
Garnacho has since been told to find another Amorim club. The Argentina International responded poorly left on the bank in front of the Europa League final against Spurs before being omitted from the United team for their 2-0 win over Aston Villa on the last day of the season.
Napoli seems to be the leaders for his signature after seeing an offer in January rejected. However, Garnacho is part of the Red Devils team who was defeated by an Asean Allstar team in Kuala Lumpur before he continued to Hong Kong as part of a tour after the season.
Amorim was not impressed by questions that suggested that Garnacho's presence on the trip was unusual prior to a possible exit. “It's no surprise,” he said.
“He is a Manchester United player – all players are here. Some players are injured and it was better for them not to fly here to play these two games. It is a normal situation.”
Amorim, however, was spotted to suppress a smile with his hand when Amad was asked if he hoped that Garnacho would stay in the club. The Ivory Coast International would like to stay his teammate.
Amad said: “Alejandro is a really good player and we need good players in the team. I know Garna very well, so I hope I have Garna next season. It's not really a big problem for the team. Everything is good now.”
