UFC star who knocked Dustin Poirier out in under two minutes added to his UFC 318 retirement card

Dustin Poirier will share his last card with a familiar face at UFC 318.

Poirier will end his career against Max Holloway when the couple completes their trilogy in the main event of the pay-per-view of July 19.

After he initially retired in the aftermath of his third failed bid to reach the undisputed lightweight throne, Poirier's submission loss to Islam Makhachev was quickly followed with confirmation that 'the diamond' will have one last farewell.

Poirier has had his wish to have his last fight near home, with the Louisianan -striking in the head in the New Orleans Smoothie King Center.

And there, the opponent of the fan favorite at night will not be the only former opponent who takes the walk.

With the UFC 318 event and the conclusion of Poirier's memorable term of office as an MMA hunter approaching quickly, the full line -up starts to come together.

Participating in the will of Marvin Vettori, Neil Magny, Ikram Aliskerov and Amanda Ribas on the map will be a veteran of 42 professional fights in Michael Johnson.

The 38-year-old lightweight shared the Octagon with big names such as Poirier, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Justin Gaethje, Josh Emmett, Nate Diaz and Edson Barboza during his 17-year career.

Per MMA fights, Johnson's last outing against rising prospect Daniel Zellhuber will be at the opposite stage of his career.

Johnson will participate in the competition on the back of two straight victories, with 'The Menace's' most recent triumph that is due to a vintage knockout against Ottman Azaitar in December 2024.
